For Spring/Summer 2027, One Off Ones explores the charm of the vampire through ‘Vespertine’, a collection inspired by the seductive darkness and ambiguity of vampire mythology.
This collection drew inspiration from The Hunger (1983), the cult erotic vampire film directed by Tony Scott and starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon. Its world of darkness, sensuality, and desire became a starting point for exploring the vampire not simply as a supernatural figure, but as an embodiment of transformation, ambiguity, and freedom from convention.

The visual language of The Hunger; its dark romanticism, sharp tailoring, sensual silhouettes, and haunting atmosphere - is translated through One Off Ones’ contemporary, genderless perspective. This collection uses fabric such as velvet, lace, sheer fabrics, and paired it with structured tailoring to create a vampiric aesthetic, pairing traditional gothic elements with a modern twist. Traditional gothic codes are reinterpreted into silhouettes that feel modern rather than costume-like, allowing the references to exist subtly within the garments.

David Bowie’s presence in The Hunger further deepens the collection’s exploration of identity. As an enduring icon of androgyny and self-reinvention, Bowie challenged the boundaries of masculinity and femininity throughout his career. His ability to move freely between identities, personas, and expressions reflects the very essence of One Off Ones’ genderless vision.
Throughout history, the vampire has existed as a figure outside societal order; neither fully alive nor dead, neither belonging to one world nor another. This liminality has made vampiric mythology a powerful metaphor for challenging convention. Its gothic and androgynous qualities invite us to question the boundaries placed around identity, gender, desire, and self-expression.

Vespertine embraces this ambiguity. It imagines a world where masculine and feminine are not opposing categories, but fluid elements that can coexist, overlap, and transform. Where clothing is not confined by the body it is designed for, and where self-expression is not determined by traditional expectations.
Vespertine stays true to the belief that fashion should exist without fixed boundaries - genderless, fluid, and open to interpretation. By looking toward a creature that has always existed between worlds, the collection celebrates those who refuse to be defined by only one.
